"When I was 10, my family took a vacation to Orlando, Florida. This was during the height of my Nickelodeon obsession and I badgered my parents into visiting Universal Studios/Nickelodeon Studios. One of my favorite shows was 'Fifteen.' During our visit the cast of 'Fifteen' was signing autographs outside of Nickelodeon Studios, which is when this picture was taken. I am the awkward-looking girl to the far left. Note the apathetic expression that completely belied my utter excitement at meeting the cast. I'm especially proud of how I look like the early '90s exploded all over me. I'm wearing a New Kids On The Block t-shirt and a stone-washed fanny pack. I'm also rocking bangs so serious, that were so hard to grow out and get rid of, that I am forever to terrified to try any incarnation of bangs ever again. The added bonus to this photo is the skinny boy in the black shirt making effeminate hand gestures. That boy is Ryan Reynolds and he looks just a little better now." --Kimberly
"My mom was a bellydancer at that time, so all I did was dress up in her clothes. This was probably one of those in-between stages of just-came-out-of-the-pool-but-not-quite-ready-for-real-clothes-yet (hence, bikini top and underoos). I am sure I had just seen a Miami Vice episode, which explains the jacket. I know great care went into this look, revolving around those boots. Fresh off the boat from Holland, I am sure I begged Mom to let me wear this to kindergarten the next day." --Lucy
"This photo of me and George Takai (aka. Mr. Sulu) was taken at a
Star Trek convention in Wilkes-Barre, PA, circa 1984. I was nine at the
time. My mom is a huge Trekkie and she got her kicks dragging me and my
brother to these star-studded events, dressed in matching 'Beam me up,
Scotty' t-shirts. Don't let the sparkling smile fool you--I hated it
just as much as I hated my haircut and gigantic glasses. Thanks, Mom!" --Claudia
